A degree from Bristol University in Physiology with subsidiary subjects including Pharmacology and Psychology fostered Dr Ruane’s interest in the human body in health, leading him on to study Medicine in Bristol, graduating with Honours in 2003. Since then he trained in a number of areas of medicine and surgery as well as a spell teaching and lecturing human anatomy to medical trainees. During these roles he published research into brain aneurysms in a peer reviewed Journal of Neurology and passed the necessary examinations to secure the Membership of the Royal College of Physicians and the Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners. Dr Ruane has won prizes in Anatomy Dissection, Ethics in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and The North Bristol Challenge Trophy. He Joined the Sloane Street Surgery in 2009 and enjoys all areas of general practice, particularly disease prevention, paediatrics and care of the elderly.
