Vitamin B12 is essential in maintaining a healthy
nervous system, brain, and the formation of red blood
of Vitamin B12 deficiency anaemias are:
- Muscle weakness
- Pins and needles (paraesthesia)

- Vision disturbances
- Cognitive function problems: memory loss,
change in judgement and understanding
If you are
experiencing any of these symptoms, please make an appointment with a GP who
will arrange investigative blood tests, discuss the outcome of the results
and offer advice and treatment.
The best way to treat a
deficiency, is to replace or replenish the missing nutrient. If this can’t be
done sufficiently through diet, good levels of Vitamin B12 can be achieved
through injections. This is a prescription medication and can only be
ordered after a GP consultation.
